Meet Virscio at the 2024 ACT Annual Meeting
Visit with us during the ACT Annual Meeting and learn how we are improving clinical outcomes through improved alignment of test systems to disease biology.
Virscio is excited to announce our platinum sponsorship of the 46th American College of Toxicology (ACT) Annual Meeting, taking place from November 17-20, 2024, in Austin, Texas. This year’s conference is set to bring together leading experts in toxicology and drug development, providing a unique opportunity for collaboration, learning, and innovation.
As a dedicated supporter of the toxicology community, Virscio is committed to advancing scientific research and fostering meaningful collaborations. While we will not have a booth at the conference this year, we are actively participating through various scientific presentations and interactive sessions.
We invite you to visit our poster presentations and our exhibitor-hosted session to gain insights into our latest research findings and methodologies. In addition, our scientific team will be available during the annual meeting to discuss the details of each study, answer questions, and explore potential collaborations.
Exhibitor-Hosted Session
Mark your calendar to attend our presentation during the ACT annual meeting
Virscio will be hosting an exhibitor-hosted session during the conference. This session will provide a deep dive into our specialized preclinical capabilities, with a focus on how our GLP and non-GLP toxicology services, as well as our non-clinical capabilities, can support and enhance drug development programs.
Our experts will share real-world examples and case studies that demonstrate how Virscio’s integrated approach to toxicology and pharmacology can help accelerate the path from discovery to regulatory submission. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with our team, ask questions, and learn more about how we can support their specific research needs.
"Strategies for Enabling Preclinical and Translational R&D Innovation in African Green Monkeys (AGM)"
- Session Date: Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 8 a.m.
- Location: Room 204 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Austin, Tx.
Posters and Presentations
Don’t miss our poster presentations during the ACT annual meeting
Virscio is pleased to present five scientific posters at the 2024 ACT Annual Meeting. Our posters will cover a range of topics that highlight our expertise in preclinical research, with a particular focus on toxicology, pharmacology, and translational studies. These posters reflect our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, actionable data that drives drug development forward.
Exhibitor Hosted Session: Strategies for Enabling Preclinical and Translational R&D Innovation in African Green Monkeys (AGM)
Date & Time: Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 8 a.m.
Location: Room 204
Virscio will present application of the African green monkey (AGM) to preclinical safety and efficacy evaluation in IND-enabling studies conducted at Virscio’s St. Kitts facility, highlighting scientific, animal welfare, regulatory, and clinical value associated with the use of this Old World NHP species relative to other test systems.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Repeated Intrathecal Administration of Gadolinium in Adult and Juvenile African Green Monkeys (AGM)
Presented by: Sven Korte
Poster Board Number: P519
Date & Time: Monday, Nov. 18 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Explore Virscio's research into how the African green monkey can be utilized as a preclinical test system for CNS route of administration, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and safety assessment thanks to how similar its central nervous system (CNS) physiology and anatomy is to humans and other Old-World primates
African Green Monkeys (AGM) Quarantine Colony Census: Antiparasitic Treatment and Husbandry
Presented by: Matthew Lawrence
Poster Board Number: P505
Date & Time: Monday, Nov. 18 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Learn how Virscio’s St. Kitts origin African green monkeys have several advantages over other NHPs, including derivation from a biologically isolated island population with limited phenotypic variation, and the absence of Herpes B virus and other zoonoses common in macaques and examine comparative parasite and pathogen data between the AGM and other NHP test systems.
